Our Team
The Board of Directors of the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center is a dedicated group of leaders, community members, and veterans who share a deep commitment to serving those who have served our nation. Providing strategic guidance and oversight, the board works to ensure the Center remains focused on its mission of offering supportive housing and a path toward stability for homeless and at-risk veterans.
Thomas R. Eaton
Thomas served in the USMC from 1987-1993. He is a Life Member of VFW Post 314, an AMVETS Member, has been the President of the Board of Directors at the Clarendon Vets Lodge for 25+ years, and is the current President of the Board of Directors here at AVVC. Tom has been involved with the Plumbers/ Steam Fitters Union for 30+ years. He has also served as the Mayor of the Clarendon Boro since 2015. Tom is also an Eagle Scout and a member of Masonic Lodge #241.
Michael Mclachlan
Michael graduated from Sheffield High School in 1991. After he graduated from high school, he joined the US Air Force. He served in the US Air Force and retired with 22 years of honorable service. He was deployed four times in support of the war in Afghanistan. After retiring from the the Air Force, he was employed with the Caterpillar Distribution Center in Spokane, WA for five years. He returned to Clarendon in 2021 and joined the VFW post #314 and became a board member there. He is a current member of VFW post #314 and is currently serving as the AVVC Board of Directors Secretary/Treasurer and as the AVVC Administrator.
Julie Wilson
Julie is a 2000 graduate of Sheffield High School. She served in the Army for 22 years, retiring in November 2022. Julie is currently employed as a Department Service Officer with AMVETS and enjoys assisting Veterans and their dependents. She looks forward to assisting the residents of the AVVC in this capacity and is dedicated to ensuring that all Veterans receive the benefits they have earned. She is currently the First Vice and a Lifetime Member of AMVETS Post 314. She resides in Warren with her husband and three children.
Tom E. Eaton
Tom served in the US Army for three years. He is a proud Life Member of Post 314 VFW and a 58 Year Member of post 314 VFW. He served on the Sewage Authority for ten years and was a member of Union Pipe Fitter Local 449 42 years. He owned Clarendon Water Co. for 25 years. Tom helped establish the AVVC. He has lived in Clarendon for most of his 80 year life.
Kelli Zandi
Kelly Zandi is a daughter of a Navy veteran, a wife to late husband Dan Zandi, and a mother to three successful daughters. She is also a patriot – and firmly believes that veterans, who have sacrificed so much for our great nation, should be afforded every opportunity to thrive. As a board member of the AVVC, she will not only be carrying on the legacy of her late husband’s generosity and community service, but will also be leading by example to future generations, to include her three grandchildren, on how to make a difference in the lives of those that deserve it most. Kelly is a lifelong resident of Warren County, PA, a 1984 graduate of Sheffield Area High school, member of of AMVETS Post 314 and currently resides in Clarendon, PA.
Dave Progar
Dave served in the US Navy fo four years with two tours of duty in Vietnam. He graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. degree. Dave is happily retired from the Department of Conservation/ State Parks. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9631. Dave is also a current member of the board here at the AVVC.
Liz Deambrosio
Liz was born and raised in Warren, PA and graduated from Boston University in 1986. She has lived and worked for Whirley-DrinkWorks! for 30 years both in the US and abroad in Mexico, Brazil and the UK as a Sales Representative and a Channel Sales Manager. She recently retired in 2024 but remains as an active Board member for Whirley-DrinkWorks! Liz currently resides in Connecticut with her husband and has three adult children.
John Hawk
John is a lifelong resident of the Clarendon area. He proudly served in the US Army for two years. He has been a member of the Joseph Warren Lodge #726 for 32 years and served as their Past Master and was the Former Trustee. He is a 31 year member of the Coudersport Consistory AASR, an Honorary Member of the Supreme Council #33, and is the current Commander of AMVETS post #314.
Lee Borger
Lee is a long time resident of the area. He graduated from Warren Area High School and attended Edinboro University where he majored in Economics. His career began in Banking, then at United Refining Company and on to owning and operating several retail businesses and finally operation oil properties. He owned a small plot of land and raised beef cattle as well. He has always been an avid motorcycle rider and outdoorsman. Now retired, he spends his time with his dog and the many activities at the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center.
